100 oz Asahi Florida Silver Bar (New). Cast Silver Bars are some of the most affordable forms of Silver Bullion you can buy today. When it comes to some of the most popular weights in cast silver bars, 100 oz silver is at the top of the list. Bar Highlights: ·       Classic cast silver bar style! ·       Produced by Asahi Refining at its Florida facility! ·       Contains 100 Troy oz of .999 pure silver. ·       On the obverse are inscriptions of the mint, weight, metal content, and purity. ·       The reverse field is blank. Asahi Refining is one of the newest minting operations in North America, but it has history that runs back decades from its headquarters in Japan. These bars were produced by Asahi Refining at its Florida refining facility, as noted in the inscription on the obverse. A cast silver bar is the simplest form of investment-grade silver a mint can produce. Silver is first melted down and then poured into prefabricated, heat-resistant molds. These molds are made to ensure an exact shape and weight for the finished products. Each mint has its own approach to cooling the bar, but most will either leave the bar in the mold to air cool or drop it into water to speed up the cooling and settling process. Inscriptions and designs on cast silver bars are stamped, by hand or machine, into the surface of the bar in an incuse strike. On the obverse of 100 oz Asahi Florida Silver Bars, you will find all the inscriptions featured on the specimen. All of the inscriptions are arranged vertically down the face of the bar, starting with the mint logo at the very top of the bar. Beneath this, you will find the name of the mint, the location of the facility that refined this specific piece, and the weight, metal content, and purity are found at the bottom of the bar. The reverse side of 100 oz Asahi Silver Bars is left blank on purpose. Most mints stamp inscriptions on only one face of cast silver bars. Though there are no specific design elements on the reverse of the bars, you may notice various texture lines or striations. These are natural elements that occur as the silver settles and cools during production.
